UNV is currently looking for professional and highly motivated individuals, with a genuine concern for global issues, interested to serve as UN Volunteers with UN agencis as well as UN peackeeping operations in the Arab States.
UN Volunteer assignments can be in:
- Substantive functions such as electoral advisors;
- Technical and support areas such as aviation, movement/transport control, information technology and telecommunication, as well as engineering, supply management and logistics; o
- health, such as medical doctors, nurses and medical technicians.
Formal relevant qualifications, a minimum of two years professional working experience and good communication skills in English/Arabic or Arabic/French are essential. Many assignments also require general computer competence and previous supervisory skills. Flexibility and the capacity to live and work in demanding conditions are also important.
Conditions of Service for UN Voluntees:
The duration of UN Volunteer assignments can be an initial contract of 3 to 6 months, generally with a possibility to extend for 1 - 2 years. Some benefits include, transport to and from the duty station, health and life insurance and a monthly living allowance sufficient to take care of accommodation and general expenses.
