I am honored to have been appointed the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, a position I started four days ago. I appreciate the expressions of support from Yemenis and the international community, including Council members.

The Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY) exercises good offices to enable the resumption of a peaceful, inclusive, orderly, Yemeni-led political transition that meets the legitimate aspirations of the Yemeni people.
