4 June 2015 - In this episode, Afghanistan Emrooz features stories about women who participate and engage in public life, exploring the positive effects on their wellbeing and future outlook. The first part of the programme visits a group of women artists who set up an art gallery in Kabul and aim to sensitize the Afghan public to modern art.

However, harmful traditions, cultural constraint, insecurity and poverty are still serious barriers that keep too many girls in Afghanistan from receiving an education.

Such harsh realities and difficult living conditions have created a heightened awareness amongst Afghan youth about the importance of making peace a reality in Afghanistan.
