Monitoring and patrolling are core to the mandate of the United Nations Mission to support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA). The Mission is tasked with monitoring the parties’ compliance with the ceasefire and the mutual redeployment of forces in Hudaydah Governorate, as well as monitoring the demilitarization of Hudaydah Port and the ports of Salif and Ras Isa and where possible areas in the southern part of Hudaydah Governorate. To fulfill this mandate, UNMHA regularly conducts visits to these ports and their surrounding areas.
These visits provide an essential opportunity not only to observe and report on military manifestations and other developments on the ground but also to engage with the parties and understand their requests for support.
